Birdhouse Stitch-Along Kit Materials (Deconstructed Kit)

These are a collection of materials you will need to make the Birdhouses Quilt project - some of them are necessary and others will be used for embellishments and decorations.

If you’re wanting to make up a kit from our selections, here’s a guide:

ESSENTIAL ITEMS:

Calico - this will be used as the backing for each block.

Threads - we’ve put together a selection of Wonderfil Perle 8. (Lara uses Au ver a Soie silk thread which we sell in the “Threads” section of the website.)

Fabric Collection - Our collections contain a ‘hero’ piece of antique/vintage fabric with some new pieces which have been curated to complement it.

Trim: You’ll need a variety of lovely trims to decorate your birdhouses. Our packs are sorted into colours and have lots of bits and pieces to play with.

Block Backgrounds: First, by watching the introduction class you'll decide whether to use pieced or whole cloth backgrounds on your blocks. For pieced backgrounds, order the Fabric Neutral Background Packs which contain enough pieces for the blocks.  For whole cloth backgrounds order 1.5m of neutral background fabric of your choice from HERE (You'll need 6 units) we can suggest DV5183, DV6477, DV5173.

EXTRAS:

If you prefer more sturdy templates, we have a cardboard set available. Some of the other choices we have on offer are ribbons, charms, embellishment variety packs, lace packs.
