This pair of adorable vintage (50+ years old) carry handles, were traditionally used by greengrocers, butchers and other shopkeepers.
They would wrap their customers packages in paper and tie with string to secure them, and these carry handles were then offered as a way for the customer to comfortably carry their parcel home.
The printed font denotes the purveyor who supplied the goods.
They would be lovely to use for gifting beautifully wrapped Christmas gifts and are very sturdy.
